Note: |
| Goppler is no longer being updated. I've switched to using RTVEDIT which has cured my sync problems, albeit only if I do NOT use another mpeg editor (like PixeDV)! |
| I've been working on a graphical utitlity to accompany RTVEDIT. It can be found at: http://www.woodspell.com/mpeg/elmpeg.html |
|
This is intended only to be used on ReplayTV mpegs... but there's no warranty, so use it on whatever you want! :) |

IMPORTANT
|

There are ("harumph") several "undocumented features" that will prevent this program from working properly: | ||||||
|
I apologize for any inconveniences these bugs may cause. The program was originally intended only for my personal use, so I was less than careful re: user friendliness. I plan to put a Cocoa gui over the app as soon as I get a free moment from my real life. Sorry -- no ETA as of yet!
Note: a lot of people have been reporting success using rtvedit and rtvconvert, part of the Replay5k Toolkit (read the thread on MacReplayTV Forum) -- you may find Goppler unnecessary!
First open the Terminal application, then "tar zxvf goppler*.tgz" to uncompress it.
Run as "goppler -fix [ReplayTV mpeg file]"
goppler.tgz version .50a -- Updated on November 11, 2003
------- Fixed a bug that loused up long filenames.
------- Added per user request the -o parameter that will allow specifying the output file.
goppler.tgz version .40a -- Updated on August 10, 2003
------- Fixed some semi-serious bugs that prevented the GOP headers from being written correctly. (Undoubtedly more bugs have also been added! Will fix them when I find them...)
------- More bug fixes. Removed the default option of adding a Program Stream Map, but it can still be added with -sm.
------ The -fix parameter does the following:
Adds Sequence Headers to GOPs
Fixes timecodes in GOPs
Fixes bitrates in Sequence Headers for ReplayTV MPEGs
(sets to predetermined values based on Standard,
Medium, or High quality ReplayTV mpeg files)
Cuts orphaned picture frames before initial sequence header
Fixes System Header
Run goppler with no parameters to see additional options.
------- Corrected bugs that prevented proper output of the hours and minutes in the GOP header timecode in -print.
------- It now sets the drop_frame flag if the frame rate is at 29.97.
------- Added gop timecode fixing
------- Large file support fixed in v.08a
I know, it's just one file, so why tar and zip it? To preserve the permissions and to keep your browser from trying to open it as a text file!
